Non-Profit Housing Developments
Transforming lives through affordable housing in California, Los Angeles, LA County, Fresno, Florida, and Louisiana.
We believe housed communities are strong communities. Our non-profit housing developments provide affordable, safe homes for marginalized communities. In particular, we specialize in:
Adapted disabled housing, giving people with a range of special needs access to safe accommodation and empowering community support.
Senior housing developments offering support to vulnerable elderly people who want to stay active in their communities.
Quality housing for low-income individuals and families at significantly reduced rental rates.
Transitional Housing, Los Angeles, Florida & Louisiana.
Offering hope, stability, and opportunity to ex-offenders.
The stability of a secure home is invaluable. Through the overwhelming hope and uncertainty of release, our transitional housing program offers a network of support to formerly incarcerated people. We help boost self-esteem by providing a stable environment that empowers ex-prisoners to grow into productive community members.
Weatherization Program
Helping low-income communities save money on home energy bills.
Rocketing energy prices are hitting those on the lowest incomes the hardest. Our weatherization program works with low-income, senior, and disabled communities to help insulate homes from the summer heat and winter cold; creating safer, healthier home environments and reducing energy costs.
Empathy Through Personal Experience
We understand because we have lived it.
The Above The Obstacle Foundation is rooted in the personal experiences of its founder, Taree Brown. Our passion was born from challenges he faced in rebuilding his life after a wrongful prison sentence. And from those faced by the neighbors, friends, and communities he met along the way.
